Kelley O'Leary: Collective Geographies | Opening Reception

Join us Saturday November 18, 2-5pm to view and contribute to Kelley O'Leary's project Collective Geographies, a community mapping project in the Outer Sunset that re-inserts personal experience into the immersive media experience of Google Street View. At a time when the neighborhood, the city, and the nation are experiencing rapid transformation, Collective Geographies provides an opportunity for reflection, dialogue, and a glimpse of the many layers of community and connection we share through place.

O’Leary invites the community to share memories associated with a street address in the Outer Sunset, loosely defined as west of 19th Avenue, north of Sloat Blvd, and south of Golden Gate Park. Each locale will be added to a large-scale archival collage in the gallery, and each memory will be collected in a set of corresponding cards displayed for visitors to explore. All stories will remain anonymous unless you request otherwise.
